New head of department

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Carmen Piering will be taking over the leadership of the "Environmental Construction Supervision" department. With her many years of experience in this field, she brings a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in environmental construction supervision. We are confident that Carmen, with her solid expertise and dedication, will make a significant contribution to the department and to IBL, and we are delighted to welcome her to this important role.

Dr. Camen Piering is a certified biologist and has been responsible for managing the Environmental Construction Supervision Department at IBL Umweltplanung GmbH since 2025. As head of the department, she coordinates ongoing projects and tasks related to environmental construction supervision for both land-based developments (e.g., power lines, gas pipelines, and industrial conversion projects) and marine projects (particularly island and Wadden Sea construction sites, submarine cables, and their landfalls).

Dr. Piering has been with IBL since 2021, specializing in environmental construction supervision and project management for major infrastructure projects in coastal areas and onshore grid expansion. She has extensive experience in environmental construction supervision, preparing and coordinating environmental documentation for approval procedures, and supporting major infrastructure projects through regulatory processes. Additionally, Dr. Piering provides both technical and strategic guidance to project developers regarding environmental aspects of construction execution and serves as the primary point of contact for relevant authorities and project partners.
