Dirk Wolters, a qualified engineer in landscape planning, has been heading the Department of Inland Waters and Coastal Seas at IBL Umweltplanung GmbH since 2015 and has been with the company for over three decades. He coordinates ongoing projects and tasks related to coastal waters, Germany’s river estuaries and adjacent inland waters. He also oversees energy transition and waterway development projects within this area.

Dirk provides cross-disciplinary advice to project developers at all stages of planning to help achieve project goals with minimal risk. He represents projects and reports in discussions with specialised authorities, associations, affected citizens and even administrative courts when necessary.

Additionally, Dirk coordinates IBL’s activities in environmental construction monitoring and advises clients on implementing large-scale projects in an environmentally compatible manner in sensitive habitats.

Katja Zorn is a qualified landscape architect and has led the Industry & Environment department since 2015, where she is responsible for coordinating environmentally relevant procedural documents and overseeing processes under the German Federal Emission Control Act (BImSchG), mining and water laws, as well as managing onshore wind energy projects and urban land-use planning. Her responsibilities also include engaging with clients on overarching technical and strategic issues, as well as business development activities. Katja has extensive experience in supporting large-scale projects, including cross-border initiatives. Her approach is inherently interdisciplinary, involving collaboration with experts from other fields such as legal professionals, environmental consultants and engineers.

As a landscape architect, her expertise extends beyond procedural support and report preparation to include open space planning, from initial design through to construction monitoring.
